Why You Will Love This DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

  • Affordable ingredients
  • Easy & quick to make
  • Great gift idea with our printable tags
  • Will remove dead skin cells
  • Adds moisture to your lips

What are the ingredients for a Sugar Lip Scrub?

This DIY lip sugar scrub is made with just 3 simple ingredients, all likely to be in your pantry.

  • Sugar – I used raw organic sugar for my lip scrub but white granulated sugar or soft brown sugar would work just fine too. Sugar is an exfoliator that helps remove dead skin cells.
  • Honey – Honey, any is fine. This will help rehydrate your lips and make them nice and smooth.
  • Coconut Oil – I suggest using coconut oil if you have it, or olive oil will work, too. Coconut oil has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and will help moisturise dry lips.

How do you make a Sugar Lip Scrub?

  1. Add the sugar, melted honey, and coconut oil in a bowl.
  2. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add to a small mason jar.
  4. Add a printable label and ribbon if this is for a gift!

This recipe will make a 1 x 4oz jelly mason jar from Ball.

How to use this DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

Scoop out about a tablespoon and rub the sugar scrub directly onto your lips.

Move in a circular motion across your lips to help remove dead skin cells and moisturise.

Rinse off with water and a washcloth. You should be able to notice the suppleness of your revitalised lips. It’s such a nice treat!

If you’re like me and get dry lips all the time use this scrub a couple of times a week. It makes a difference.

How to Gift this DIY Sugar Lip Scrub

These sugar scrubs make lovely handmade gifts. Store the scrub in a small mason jar. Add a sweet satin ribbon and a free printable gift tag.

You can use either card stock or sticker paper to print my free gift tags.

I used a vinyl sticker paper, which worked well. You could use a card stock and stick them on with double-sided tape!

How to Store this Sugar Lip Scrub?

This sugar scrub is made using natural ingredients, so it’s always best to use these things quicker than store-bought products.

Store this in a cool, dry place or in the fridge.

I recommend using this scrub within 2-3 months of making it.

You may find the coconut oil hardens if you aren’t in a super warm climate. Pop the jar into some warm water to melt it, then use.
