A pile of freshly dried cotton and linen fabrics 🧺

I soaked these natural fibres in soy milk for about 30 hours to create a binding ready for some natural dyeing. The soy milk can help create bolder colours 🌟

This was something new and exciting! I made my own soy milk following a great video tutorial by @billynouapparel

I’m planning to play around with 🥑 dyeing, onion skins and some bark from the back yard! Stay tuned.

Enjoying the afternoon sunshine in my latest makes after a day of pattern making 🌞

I made a #roscoeblouse in a sheer white cotton. I added a front button placket and small shell buttons.

This top has already been worn so many times I love the fit so much! I’m super excited to make another soon.

I also finished making some beige linen #pomonapants in the shorts version because it’s still so hot here in NZ! I’ve been wearing them all day and I can’t believe how comfy they are.

I made a sample and found the crotch length to be too short for me. I made some pattern adjustments and managed to get them fitting perfectly on the second sample.
(You can see that adjustments in the last photo)

I’m currently drafting a new pattern called the Chloe dress & I’m so excited to share more with you soon. This pattern will have 2 bodice options and 2 skirt options plus I’m planning to add some hacks to my blog as well! For now it’s back to sewing samples 🪡✨

Here’s a pic of me wearing our blouse one top in a lightweight linen. It’s slightly sheer which I really love. I find I don’t really wear my blouse with the waist tie but I decided to twist and knot it at the back 🤍

This is a great pattern to practice gathering if it’s new to you. There are gathers along the back yoke, front shoulders and the sleeves. Can you tell I love this detail!

I also added some tips in the sewing instructions on how to sew a curved hem without breaking a sweat 👍🏼

Today I’m planning to sew my first pair of linen #pomonapants which I’m really excited about! I’ve made a few adjustments to the pattern to fit me a little better so wish me luck!

This is the #zwcroppedshirt pattern by @birgittahelmersson but I followed the gathered sleeve hack on her blog!

This was so much fun to cut out and sew together...thank you @birgittahelmersson for creating such a beautiful pattern.

I took a snap of my scraps from this project (scroll across to see). This is a zero waste pattern but I snagged the last of the roll of khaki linen from @spotlightstores

Im going to use the scraps up in the quilt I’m working on so I don’t waste anything 💚
