Hello, I’m Makyla!

I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a former fashion buyer turned homemaking enthusiast, passionate about living an intentional life filled with creativity, joy, and meaningful moments.

I aim to make homemaking skills approachable and enjoyable for everyone. Through simple recipes and heartfelt tips, I hope to inspire you to slow down and savour the beauty of creating with your own hands.

It’s about finding joy in the little things, like baking a loaf of bread, sewing something special, creating a handmade gift, or hosting a cosy dinner with friends and family.

Here, I share everything I love about homemaking – easy recipes, homemaking tips, sewing, natural homemade recipes, decor ideas, gift-giving ideas, and hosting memorable gatherings at home.

You’re in the right place if you’re here to learn a new skill, find inspiration for your next project, or simply embrace the beauty of a slower, more intentional lifestyle.

Some Fun Facts About Me:

  • I was born and raised on New Zealand’s North Island but now live on the South Island.
  • My nana has always been an avid gardener, and her love for gardening has inspired me as well. I enjoy everything floral and take great pleasure in tending to the roses, dahlias, tulips, peonies, and lavenders that I have planted in my little backyard.
  • The beach or oceanside is where I find the most peace and calm in such a busy world.
  • I enjoy being at home. I find joy in creating a cosy, warm, inviting, and inspiring atmosphere.
