21 Gorgeous Levitate Wrap Cardigan Ideas From Knitters

I just finished knitting the Levitate Wrap by My Favourite Things Knitwear and I honestly cannot stop wearing it. I knitted mine in Kos by Sandnes Garn in the colourway Forest Brown, in size large, and it took me around five months from cast-on. There were definitely a few weeks in there where it sat untouched on my needles, but the finished result made every single stitch worth it.

I will be honest, the yarn was not my favourite to work with. The Kos has a nylon casing, and I found that, in places, the yarn had not fully bloomed into the casing, leaving my work looking a little messy and uneven while I was knitting. If you are planning to make this pattern, I would suggest looking at other yarn options for that reason. That said, it blocked out beautifully in the end, and all those worries disappeared completely once it was finished and dry.

The pattern itself was a genuine pleasure. This is my fourth sweater, and I had no trouble following it at all. My favourite part was the double knitting along the neckline and the ties at the bottom. It gives the cardigan that lovely neat finish that makes it look really considered and special. The fit on me is perfect, and it has become my most reached-for layer. It dresses up over a silk top and dresses down over a basic tee, which is exactly what I want from a handknit.

My Tips And Modifications:

  1. I picked up 66 stitches for the sleeves instead of following the pattern as written. Most sweater sleeve openings are too tight for my arms, so this is a modification I make regularly.
  2. I changed the sleeve decreases to be evenly spaced across 10 rounds, but only decreased for rounds 1 through 7. This leaves 52 stitches on the needles, and I then continued those final rounds with no further decreases. The result is a boxier sleeve shape which I personally prefer.
