If you enjoy sewing, it’s highly likely that you have a pile of scrap fabric sitting in your craft supplies, staring at you. It seems to be an unwritten rule to keep even the smallest bits of fabric, just in case they come in handy in the future. I’ll admit, I’m guilty of doing this too!
I have a habit of keeping even small pieces of scrap fabric because I know they can be used for something. I’m all for using what I have and trying to make better choices regarding my waste. If you’re familiar with my blog, I love encouraging this.

What Scrap Fabrics to Use?
- Old clothing like denim, linen, and cotton shirts can be cut up for fabric. I like to find cotton shirts in funky prints at thrift stores to use for fabric.
- Leftover fabric scraps from sewing projects.
- Fabric samples or swatches.
